14 years old, scoring his first goal in U18’s Adelaide Hills Hawks
Senne came to us during a difficult year playing in a team where he was playing minimal game time. He felt he was not being appreciated and his confidence was quickly declining. Within a year of participating in the private soccer coaching and Futsal Academy For Soccer Development programs he has managed to go from U14’s Sturt to scoring his first goal for the U18’s at the age of 14.Â
Senne has gone from being a player that has been neglected and left on the bench to being a star rising player of the Adelaide Hills Hawks. To be playing U18’s at his age is an achievement but to be scoring as well… that is truly a testament to the hard work he has been putting in at our weekly academy sessions.Â
It is always a blessing to hear about players shining in their team to the point where the club decides to bring them up to play for older age groups. The goal is always to improve players as quickly and effectively as possible so they can be playing for senior men’s teams or state development squads.
Senne is still a current player of the academy and we look forward to continue to develop, mentor and guide him along his career.Â

Congratulations to these players who have entered the state development program. They are very proud to be representing their state and being a part of that system and pathway. It has been a pleasure to coach and mentor these young players.
We like to always mention that yes the state development program is good pathway but it is not the be all end all. Thus for those who have felt disheartened, please visit the story about Anastasia above. There are always other pathways and options.
